When I sat down on Tuesday 17 November 2009 to write the first email for King's Daughters I had no idea of the magnitude of the seemingly small action I was taking. Today I am amazed at the events that have taken place since that day when i decided to act on the dream that I had carried in my heart for years, dormantly, without action. Beginning with ONE email, the dream is taking form and growing everday!
Last week our young adults pastor shared on 2 Corinthians 8 vs 10 - 11 "And in this I give advice: It is to your advantage not only to be doing what you began and were desiring to do a year ago; but now you also must complete the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to desire it, so there may be a completion out of what you have." This scripture stirred me to take the first step of action!
What God-given dreams have you been carrying that you are yet to start acting upon? As we set aside this Tuesday 24 November 2009 to fast and pray for the will of God concerning our lives, my prayer is that God will begin to bring to your remembrance the dreams and visions that He has deposited in your spirit and that you may be stirred up to begin to take action this week, no matter how small the step.
I am currently reading a book by Pastor Evan Mawarire "DREAM BIG" (one of the best books I have encountered this year!) and the first chapter begins with this quote "Nothing much happens without a dream. For something great to happen, it takes a really great dream" - Robert Greenleaf.
Prayer: Heavenly father I thank you that as we seek you in prayer, You are depositing GREAT dreams in our hearts for us to do GREAT things for your glory. And that with the dreams comes the desire and grace to accomplish that which you show us. In Jesus name. Amen

In the beginning...
A fire has been sparked in Zimbabwe by a small group of ladies who have begun fasting every Tuesday for breakthroughs in various areas such as family, relationships, careers, education, our nation, marriages, spiritual growth, friends… the list is almost endless. In fact, I know of two separate groups of women who independently started fasting on Tuesday – some may call this coincidence, I call it GOD. I was so inspired by the commitment of these women that I wanted to share what we had begun with as many other women as would answer to the call so that the small flame that was sparked would grow into an inferno! Just imagine if every Tuesday, hundreds and even thousands of women were fasting – with this kind of unity, the power that would be released into the atmosphere through our prayer and fasting would be tremendous – the kind of atmosphere for miracles and breakthroughs!
My desire is for women to ARISE and SHINE in their domains and spheres of influence and rise above every challenge that confronts us. Fasting empowers and supercharges our prayers! Jesus told the disciples who attempted to cast out the demon that in order to confront the kind of situation they were facing they needed a greater level of anointing and power which required them to fast and pray. Ladies, we shall overcome mountains and great barriers in every area of our lives and beyond as we humble ourselves by fasting and praying consistently. If you’re like me, you’ve probably tried to fast consistently by yourself and struggled. I’ve learnt that there are some things that are hard to do alone but are possible with the support of friends and sisters.
The bible is filled with examples of women who prayed fervently to God and changed the destinies of their Nations, the Husbands, their Families and Multi-Generations! Think of Esther, Deborah, Abigail, Mary (mother of Jesus), Elizabeth, Hannah, Mary Magdalene, Ruth and today it is you and me. We must know our identity in the Kingdom of God - we are the King’s Daughters, anointed women of authority, women of power, women of influence, women of prayer and fasting!
I hope you accept this invitation to be a part of something much greater than ourselves. To be vessels through which God’s light can shine into our homes, offices, churches, and nations. I pray that God will grant us wisdom and revelation to do His will – that from our small beginnings we will grow into significance because we set our hearts to pursue the heart of God in prayer and fasting.
How can you be a part of this powerful army of women of prayer?
- Make a commitment today to join in fasting and praying EVERY Tuesday (Some will start with fasting a meal, or half day, or 6AM to 6PM, or water only or dry.. whatever level you’re at I encourage you to just start - the important thing is to be consistent and be led by the Holy Spirit). Remember it’s not a hunger strike, your heart motive must be right!
- Send invites to other women in your sphere of influence – sisters, friends, family, colleagues – to join you so you can meet and pray together in your area.
